The discussion themed “Czech weapons and the Middle East” took place in the Kulturárium café in Brno, on the 24th of May, 2018. The speakers that took part in the discussion were:

Martin Balcar, the leader of Amnesty International’s campaigns (one of these campaigns is also “Guns under control”). He is the co-author of AI memorandums.

Josef Kraus, working at the Masaryk University (Security and Strategic Studies). He is interested in the Middle East region and the issues of terrorism, Islamic terrorism and proliferation.

Marek Čejka concentrates on the Middle East region and its relations with western countries, more specifically,  on religion and politics, religious fundamentalism, terrorism and certain aspects of international law. He currently works at the Military History Institute and externally at the Institute of International Relations. He also runs a blog about the Middle East (see http://blizky-vychod.blogspot.com).
